The Utopia of Grace Field House and the Sinister Gate
In the year 2045, thirty-eight orphaned children live in paradise at Grace Field House. They have delicious meals, spotless white uniforms, vast grassy fields to play tag, and the gentle, maternal affection of their beloved caretaker, "Mom" Isabella. The children are given identification serial numbers tattooed on their necks and take daily computerized intelligence tests.
The undisputed leaders of the children are three eleven-year-old prodigies who consistently score perfect marks: the optimistic and athletic Emma (No. 63194), the quiet strategic genius Norman (No. 22194), and the cynical, pragmatic bookworm Ray (No. 81194).
Children are "adopted" out to foster families whenever they turn between six and twelve years old. One evening, six-year-old Conny departs with Isabella. Emma notices that Conny left behind her beloved stuffed toy, "Little Bernie." Disobeying the sole cardinal rule of the orphanage—never approach the front entrance gate—Emma and Norman sprint through the dark to catch Conny before she leaves.
At the deserted gate, they peek into the back of an idling truck. In the shadows, they discover Conny's dead body lying inside a glass container, a crimson vampire-like flower (Gwidra) blossoming from her chest to drain her blood. Hiding under the truck, they watch towering, monstrous Demons inspect Conny's corpse, evaluating her brain quality as gourmet "human meat." To their horror, Mom Isabella stands before the demons, smiling obediently as a human farm manager. Grace Field House is not a home—it is a premium livestock farm ("Plant 3"), breeding high-IQ human children as food for demonic nobility.
The Game of Wits Against Mom Isabella
Emma and Norman race back to the dormitory in pure shock. Knowing that all children over six are destined for slaughter, Emma refuses to escape with just the older trio—she insists on saving every single one of their thirty-seven siblings.
Confiding in Ray, the trio orchestrates a high-stakes psychological game of chess against Isabella. They discover that every child has a microscopic tracking device implanted beneath their earlobe. Furthermore, Isabella introduces an assistant, Sister Krone, a physically intimidating woman harboring secret ambitions to overthrow Isabella and claim the head Mom position.
Norman plays 4D chess, laying trap information and exposing Ray as Isabella's secret spy! Ray admits he never suffered childhood amnesia; he has remembered everything since infancy, including that Isabella is his biological mother. Ray confesses he became her informant only to gather supplies (including a camera flash to build a signal scrambler) to guarantee Emma and Norman's survival.
Norman's Sacrifice and the Grand Fire Escape
When Isabella breaks Emma's leg with her bare hands and reveals that Norman's "shipment" date has been expedited to tomorrow, despair envelopes the group. Despite Emma and Ray begging Norman to disable his tracker and hide in the forest, Norman climbs the high concrete wall, surveys the geography, and discovers a bottomless chasm separating the wall from the outside world. Refusing to let his siblings' escape be jeopardized by his absence, Norman calmly walks to the gate, smiling as he bids a tearful goodbye.
On the night before Ray's 12th birthday (his scheduled harvest), Ray prepares to douse himself in kerosene and ignite the dining hall as a sacrificial distraction. Emma stops him, revealing that Norman left behind detailed escape blueprints. Emma slices off her own left ear to leave her tracking device inside the flaming house!
While Isabella frantically scrambles to extinguish the blaze believing Emma and Ray are burning inside, all children aged five and older scale the wall. Using coat hangers and water-pump zip lines engineered by Don and Gilda, the children swing across the bottomless gorge into the wild demon forest. Isabella reaches the precipice, finds the severed rope, and accepts defeat, whispering into the night: "Take care... my precious children."
The Demon Forest, Minerva, and the Liberation of All Farms
In the perilous outside world, Emma and the children are rescued by two renegade demons, Mujika and Sonju, who follow a religious creed forbidding them from eating humans. Mujika reveals the ancient history: 1,000 years ago, demons and humans forged "The Promise," dividing the earth into two worlds: one for humans, and one for demons where captive humans were left behind as livestock. Crucially, Mujika possesses the miracle "Evil Blood," which allows demons to maintain human intelligence and form without ever consuming human flesh.
Armed with pens left behind by the mysterious human ally William Minerva, Emma leads the children to Shelter B06-32. They discover that Norman is alive! He was spared from slaughter and transferred to the Lambda-721 research facility, where drugs accelerated his growth into a towering young resistance commander.
While Norman originally plans to exterminate all demons with biological poison, Emma convinces him to choose a path without genocide. Together, they infiltrate the imperial demon capital, overthrow the corrupt demon nobility, and spread Mujika's blood to cure all demons of their hunger. Emma creates a new Promise with the supreme demon deity: in exchange for her memories of her family, all human children across every farm on Earth are transported across the dimensional rift into the peaceful human world. Years later, Emma wanders the streets of a modern metropolis until she locks eyes with Norman, Ray, and her siblings—and despite her forgotten memories, tears of recognition and joy flow freely.
